I'VE FINALLY FOUND A PLACE!

To my dearly beloved fans,  today I was wondering around aimlessly around the Marina Bay area, when an interesting and eye catching structure caught my sight! The curious me decided to venture into this dome shaped building, when I found out it was a performing arts centre, called the Esplanade, and dubbed the 6 billion dollars durians of Singapore. I was glad. It was the perfect place to hold my performance.

Inside, there are a variety of halls for various different events. I was told it was built in a shape of a durian which is a local fruit here. The durian is famous for its pungent smell and delicious flesh. Others though, say that it was designed to look as a mosquito's eyes. I find both theories interesting, and the design unique!

The soon to be completed integrated resort can also be seen from here. Towering above all beside it, it is Singapore's first intergrated resort with a casino.

The outdoor stage is simply relaxing and perfect for any place to perform. Sheltered and opened-air, it is suitable for performances in any weather, though I'm sure people would prefer a dry but cooling climate :) The outdoor stage is also near the merlion, which is another tourist attraction spot. There are pictures of different angles of the stage. Last but not least, pictures of the exterior of the magnificent Esplanade are coming up! Imagine melodious guitar tunes playing here, with a crowd of about 700 loyal fans :) Sigh.

Though I was unable to enter the recital studio, I still managed some shots.

This is the recital studio, where artistes like me can come and rehearse and practice before our performances. The Esplanade has 3 of these studios, each of them capable of seating up to 250 persons. I am sure many have used it, and were amazed at it, before. As you can see, many forms of art take their place in the Esplanade. The Esplanade not only caters for music, but artworks too - as seen in the first image.

Even thought it is only a recital studio, where most people would not go to, it is still decorated as nicely as the rest of the Esplanade. As you can see, the exterior walls of one of the recital studios have beautiful decorations on it.

The creme da la creme of this amazing and eye-turning performing arts centre, the concert hall itself. Since phototaking inside the main hall itself is prohibited, I managed to only take a shot of the lounge area that leads up to the entrance of the concert hall.

However, just by this photo alone, we can tell that Singapore is a clean & green city state. The bamboo in the background further illustrates the fact that Singapore cares for the environment.

SAY CHEESE!

This is how the Esplanade would look like in a miniature scale model. In it, you can see the whole layout and overview of this beautiful performing arts centre. The boy is a budding guitarist whom I met here. I've heard him play, and he's pretty good a guitar player himself :)

All in all, the Esplanade, in my opinion, is world class and fantastic. The facilities are aplenty and well maintained, and most importantly, it is located right smack in the city, with breathtaking views on the waterfront promenade to boot. I would definitely stage my performance here :)

I would decide on which hall / performance area in the Esplanade for my world tour soon, pending avaibility of spaces. Hope to get the nice, giant main halls!

Cheers to finding the perfect location!
